The alfredo’s and carbonara’s of the world had us stuck thinking that this whole healthy way of eating can be a tough run. Who really wants to give up garlicky cream sauce, and delicious pasta noodles?

But every time we would sit down to have a beautiful bowl of alfredo we would leave the table bloated and feeling heavy. All that cream, combined with those refined flour noodles, it’s a really hard meal to digest. Even us sitting down to half the portion of pasta had us feeling the same. And the next day, don’t even remind us about that lingering heaviness.

So, the taste of the creamy pasta is undeniably delicious, and we really don’t want to give it up, but we do, however , want to give up that bloated heavy feeling, and excess dairy in the diet.

What to do?

We made it our mission a long time ago to re-create all your favourite meals without compromising on taste…so we present you with this mouth-watering Sun-dried Tomato Cashew Cream Pasta Sauce, a great dairy alternative that will leave you satisfied, just without the bloat.

Cashews have this amazing creamy consistency when soaked and blended. They are also high in mono saturated fats (similar to the ones in olive oil, which are heart protective and also contain a high number of antioxidants. Not to mention just 1/4 cup of cashews provides 30% of your daily requirement for magnesium, a mineral essential for healthy bones and to keep you cool and relaxed.

So, since a lot of us, with age (depending on ancestry and genetics), become lactose intolerant, this cashew cream sauce is a light, creamy, rich alternative to those heavy dairy based ones. We’ve also decided to ditch the white flour pasta, because there are soooo many amazing alternatives out there. You can get high protein bean noodles, brown rice noodles, quinoa noodles… the list goes on. Here are some amazing noodle options for when you cook this cashew cream pasta sauce.

Don’t forget that you don’t have to keep this sauce as is, you can switch it up and add what you like with any pasta sauce. We love this combination of flavorus, but you could go carbonara, veggie loaded, plain mac and cheese… it’s really quite a versatile and simple sauce to make.

Spinach, Mushroom, Chicken & Bacon Creamy Pasta

2 Chicken breasts

1 cup spinach

1 cup mushrooms

3-4 pieces of grass-fed bacon strips

Cook the chicken, set aside. Sautee the bacon, and set aside. Then add the veggies and cook until soft. Pour the cream sauce over the veggies then add the chicken and bacon back in.


Spinach & Artichoke Linguine

1 pack linguine noodles

2 cups spinach

1 can of artichoke hearts

Cut up the artichoke hearts and spinach, sautee over medium for 3-4 minutes. Add in the pasta sauce, and then add in your cooked linguine noodles.


Tomato Cajun & Sausage Cream Pasta

3-4 large tomatoes, diced

4 farmers market fresh sausages, cooked & sliced (or vegan sausage to keep it meat-free)

½ Tbsp- 1 Tbsp cajun seasoning

1 large jar of passata (tomato puree)

Place the cashew cream sauce in a saucepan over medium, add in your tomatoes, sausage, tomato puree and seasoning. Cook for 3-5 minutes until warm. Add in noodles.


Sundried Tomato Cashew Cream Pasta Sauce

This mouth watering “cream” sauce alternative will leave you satisfied without the bloat.

  • 1 cup onions roughly chopped
  • 1.5 cups cashews raw; soaked at least 2 hours
  • 1 cup vegetable broth
  • 1/4 cup sundried tomatoes in oil
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 Tbsp nutritional yeast
  • 2 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil or oil of choice
  • splash of white wine
  • Pinch red pepper flakes
  • salt and pepper to taste


  1. Sautee onions on medium heat in oil, about 5 minutes, until translucent.
  2. Add onions along with all the rest of the ingredients to a high powered blender, blend until smooth and creamy. Heat in saucepan, add splash of white wine and a pinch of red pepper flakes, salt and pepper.
  3. Serve with your choice of pasta.
