Yes, we may be all about healthier desserts and snacks, but salads are ESSENTIAL health tools, didn’t yah know?

Kale is just one of our favourite healthy greens, and we have some delicious recipes that disguise the wonderful green, like our Cheesy Dill Kale Chips and Kale Blueberry & Blender Muffins, but sometimes, you just need to straight up salad your kale! You know, the way nature intended.

We know that Mother Nature made greens a little bit bitter, and maybe not the most pleasurable taste to the palette when plain (especially if you’re not used to eating greens), but we also know that if Mother Nature were human, this goddess would be standing in front of us saying,

“It’s not about eating it plain guys, it’s about finding the other things provided by the earth, and making that kale stand out, like the badass she is.”

We often have vivid daydreams about who Mother Warrior Nature is.

Luckily Jessica Mitton knows just exactly how to make kale stand out, and has contributed the most beautiful, and Simple Kale Salad with a Creamy Garlic Dressing.

Simple Kale Salad With Creamy Garlic Dressing

Make your kale come to life with this simple kale salad & creamy garlic dressing. Kale is boring no more!

Creamy Garlic Dressing


  1. Tear kale leaves into smaller pieces and add to medium sized bowl. Drizzle with oil, lemon juice and sprinkle with salt. Massage kale for about 3 minutes or until it starts to soften.
  2. Add onion, avocado, sunflower seeds and cranberries and toss.
  3. For the dressing add everything to a spill proof container or jar, and shake!
  4. Serve with ½ cup of Creamy Garlic dressing.
